August 1, 2018 will be opening day for the new office located at 56 Church Ln in Westport, CT. The insurance agency has been servicing Fairfield County since 1983, providing a wide range and high level of service to personal and commercial clients. Though Daigle & Travers has already been serving the community for over 35 years from their other locations in Darien and Wilton, the company’s continued success and growth warranted operations to be extended to a third location, conveniently locating them to the downtown area.
The move to downtown Westport was a natural and logical move for the company, which has several hometown connections to the area. Partner Eli Zimmer is a Westport resident and provides a personal understanding of the community. Partner Thomas Ayres has spent 16 years volunteering within the community through the Westport Sunrise Rotary (which is a civic organization that conducts fundraisers for charities and service projects). And the company’s newest Client Advisor, Mark Wilhelm graduated from Staples High School.
Tom Ayres will be heading the new location. He joined the agency in 2016 as a third partner to Peter Daigle and Eli Zimmer. Tom has 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, servicing Fairfield County, Westchester Country, and beyond, developing strong relationships with underwriters in the market. His reputation coupled with his product expertise and management skills, made him a perfect fit for Daigle & Travers, and now makes him the ideal candidate to run the new office. Tom’s years of service to the Westport Sunrise Rotary have made him a familiar face around town. Among the many activities he engages in, you’ll recognize him as an annual volunteer if you’ve been to the Westport Duck Race, which launches thousands of rubber ducks off the Saugatuck Bridge each spring to raise funds for charity.
After beginning his insurance career almost 10 years ago, Mark Wilhelm joined Daigle & Travers earlier in 2018. A lifelong resident of Fairfield County, Mark sees the opening of the Westport location not only as a homecoming, but more importantly as an opportunity to give back to the community he grew up in. Mark currently lives in Fairfield with his children Tyler & Emily and is heavily involved in the Darien Youth Hockey program, coaching teams at both the U10 and U18 age groups.
On the whole, Daigle & Travers is looking forward to adding new employees to the company’s additional location. With a dedicated approach to be community-oriented and a commitment to creating new jobs in the area, Daigle & Travers takes great pride in being able to grow within Connecticut and augment the state’s business infrastructure.
